Here, come take a cup of coffee for a moment to entertain yourself – we want to present you with the best beginner electric guitar possibly existing on the planet at the moment.

Yes, that’s right – you are going to read the review of the absolute most kick-butt piece of instrument tailored towards beginners. (Well, it certainly is popular – no idea about the best. Kinda a matter of personal opinion, I guess.)

The challenge that most beginner folks meet when they are trying to pick an electric guitar is that they don’t know much about guitars. They can’t distinguish between good tone and bad tone, they don’t know which strings are good for them and which ones are not, and most people also don’t know all the terminology of the guitars world.

While the best approach would be to go to a shopping store and have someone who is good with guitars consult with you, it is not always possible. Well, I’m not going to whine here, but I also was alone back in the days, knew no one, lalala, so several years ago I just bought my first electric guitar online.

Oh, people on the forums would recommend a lot of stuff – Ibanez, Squier Telecaster, Yamaha and many others – I just went with Fender Starcaster, the starter pack. It is still here in my room, and although I now have much better electric guitars, they are quite expensive models, and aren’t as simple as Starcaster, so I wouldn’t recommend them for beginners (or do you want to spend $2000 on a guitar? :) ). Okay, here goes the review. :)

Fender Starcaster Starter Pack.

Now, first, I, like all people who bought Starcaster, didn’t expect this guitar to have amazing sound, because it was a cheap beginner guitar, after all, but to my surprise, it the tones it produced were great.

The playability of this baby is top-notch, really, especially after you make some tweaks to it (change the tuners, the strings, etc. – usual stuff), which was very important for a beginner (at that day) like me as low playability would discourage me from learning how to play this instrument and I would never be as cool to my friends as I am right now :) .

Now, some people advice against buying starter packs, saying that they usually come with subpar quality instruments, and this was true to an extent true, but it seems that nowadays people are complaining less and less about it (maybe because luthiers started incorporating better quality guitars into their packs?).

The trend is definitely continuing, and many other luthiers have made changes into their starter packs.
