Let’s talk about Squier telecasters now, and cover a few things you may be interested in knowing. Okay, a little bit of history first – when I was in a school, I was very interested in the works of such rock bands like Pink Floyd, as they were very popular at that time with my friends.
Of course, I vividly remember Syd playing a guitar that had very memorable and cool outlook, but at that time I knew nothing about musical instrumetns, so the words tele and strato, which were thrown at me by my bro who was like a madman when it came to guitars, didn’t really mean to me anything.
On the other hand, I did learn by heart that these words meant something COOL in the world of guitar players.
Squier Telecaster vs Stratocaster
I’d say, and people should agree with me, that both of them are the kinda similar in what they can do, in the sense that I wouldn’t necessarily say that tele is better than strato. Both can be used to play jazz, blues, metal, rock – you name it. Telecaster might have a better tone for country music, though.
Squier telecasters are made basically the same as Fender Telecasters, and they have also been improving the quality of their guitars over the last 5 years. So you get a pretty decent starter instrument, if you do go for a Squier Telecaster. If you get a starter pack – all the better.
Which Model To Go For?
Well, I’d say that the Squier Classic Vibe Telecaster is probably the best out of the whole series of Squier Telecasters, but what do I know? : ) Basically, the advantage is that
You may still consider getting the Affiinity Series, though.
Here are the models in of Squier Telecaster that are currently known to the world of music:
Squier Affinity Telecaster, Squier Classic Vibe Telecaster, and Squier Vintage Modified.
Classic vibe and Vintage Modified are the most expensive models, but they are liked by many guitar players. The prices on Amazon fluctuate, but you should Find Squier Classic Vibe for around 599 bucks, and Squier Vintage for around 399 bucks. It depends on where you buy them from.
The Affinity series is a bit different, but you still get great tone, good hardware and the simplicity of a tele. It is constructed a bit differently (the neck) than a Classic Vibe and feels more like a Strat in this way. The playability is definitely on the high level, and should suit beginners a lot.
So, if you can afford it … get Squier Classic Vibe or Vintage Modified – they are in my opinion, the best. The Affinity is fine, too, and is actually the most popular out of the three I listed. As for where to buy it from … try Amazon, for example! Do it now.
